Walk & Stay In Linlithgow, West Lothian

Linlithgow

The little town of Linlithgow has much to commend it for a day or afternoon out. Home to the impressive Linlithgow Palace and loch, the town also has a high street packed with individual shops and lots of character.

Dog Friendly Scotland recommends the following walk and, if you're in search of somewhere dog friendly to stay, then Glenavon House is close by:

Walk

Linlithgow Loch in West Lothan enjoys a pretty setting next to the small town of Linlithgow, approx 30 minutes drive from Edinburgh.

The circuit of the loch takes about an hour and for the majority of the time you and your canine companions are well away from roads.

As a bonus, you'll find the impressive Linlithgow Palace sitting next to the loch; well worth a closer look, the palace (now looked after by Historic Scotland) has played a significant role in Scottish history.

You can enjoy lovely views of the palace as you follow the path around the loch.
