Dog Friendly Walks In Scotland's Forests

Loch Morlich Beach, Glenmore Forest near Aviemore
Forestry Commission Scotland

The Forestry Commission in Scotland oversees a huge number of forests, the majority of which are great for dog walking – from short all-access trails with walks of less than an hour, through to forest trails or lochside walks of a few hours, or, if you’re feeling really energetic then you may fancy a full day of hiking for you and your canine companions. Many walks are way-marked, making the routes easy to follow.

Dog Friendly Scotland particularly likes walks in the following Forestry Commission forests:

* Galloway Forest, Dumfries & Galloway
* Forests of the Borders - several forests around Peebles, Galashiels, Kelso etc
* Glenmore Forest, Loch & Beach (yes, beach!) - near Aviemore, Highlands
