Dog Friendly Walks - Kingussie

If you're heading to the gorgeous Scottish Highlands with your canine companions then you might walk to find out in advance some great places for dog friendly walks.

Forestry Commision Scotland looks after lots of forests around the Kingussie, Newtonmore & Aviemore parts of Badenoch & Strathspey in the Higlands and these forests have great dog friendly walking trails throughout them - plus some top Scottish scenery too!

Dog Friendly Places To Visit In Scotland - Culzean Castle

Culzean Castle in Ayrshire is an impressive sight in itself but the castle also has lots of estate grounds including a country park with 5 km of coastline and beach!

Dog Friendly B&B - Glenavon

Glenavon, LinlithgowGlenavon House, is a Scots Baronial style home nestled on the edge of the Historic burgh of Linlithgow not far from Edinburgh.

The owners are pleased to accept two dogs in their holiday apartment which is situated in the west wing of the house.

The apartment comes with its own entrance and walled garden and there is a connecting door to the main house for those who prefer bed and breakfast.

The accommodation, over three floors, is fully self-contained and features a good-sized, fully fitted kitchen with oven and hob, fridge freezer and washer dryer. There is a kitchen table which seats four people. Upstairs on the first floor is a comfortable sitting room with a large flat screen TV and DVD player and a beautiful bathroom with cast iron bath and shower and a separate toilet. On the second floor are two good-sized bedrooms, one double and one twin-bedded.

Log cabins, callanderArdoch Lodge is set in 12 acres of grounds surrounded by spectacular mountain scenery, a peaceful and tranquil setting for two log cabins and a cottage.

Up to 4 dogs are most welcome. There are plenty of paths to walk in the grounds and beyond in Forestry Commission woodland and the Trossachs National Park. The nearby village has two dog friendly pubs.

Each property sleeps up to 4 guests in 2 bedrooms and has an open plan kitchen/dining/living area plus a family bathroom. They are well furnished, equipped and heated making them comfortable at any time of the year. Wildlife abounds here with red squirrels, deer, occasional pine martens and lots of birds. Ardoch Lodge is open all year.

Dog Friendly Walk - Loch Lubnaig

Loch Lubnaig enjoys a stunning setting in the Strathyre Forest just a few miles outside the pretty town of Callendar in Stirlingshire, part of the Queen Elizabeth Forest Park.

There are plenty of places to park along the shore of the loch, enjoy a stroll, have a picnic, let your dogs have a paddle or just sit back and take in the views of forest, mountain and water.

Dog Friendly Walks In Scotland - Galloway Forest Trail

Dumfries & Galloway, tucked away in Scotland's south west corner is a stunning part of the country and home to the impressive Galloway Forest, run by Forestry Commission Scotland.

There are 3 visitor centres in the forest and loads of forest trails and paths for great dog friendly walks with lovely views.

Dog Friendly Scotland's 3 labradors have recently enjoyed the Larg Trail which affords great views of the area, is approx 4 miles long and takes around 2 hours to walk The trail starts from the Kirroughtree Visitor Centre near Newton Stewart.
